Cincinnati Mayor Travis Kelce Posts Hilarious Video About Bengals-Chief After His Joke

Cincinnati’s mayor appears to have learned his lesson after running his mouth before the Bengals’ AFC Championship clash against the Kansas City Chiefs last season, only for his team to lose.

Mayor Aftab Purewal trolled Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in a terrifying Instagram video before the AFC Championship in January, before Kansas City narrowly beat the Bengals to win the Super Bowl.

Pureval was made to eat his words after the loss, with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce calling him out immediately after the game.

But, after the humiliation, Pureval seems to have learned to keep his mouth shut.

The NFL revealed Wednesday that the Bengals and Chiefs will face each other again in the 2023 season in a Week 17 showdown on New Year’s Eve.

After the announcement, Pureval released another mock public service announcement, assisted by Bengals offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr., and this time he kept it short and sweet.

‘The Bengals play the Chiefs Week 17… and I don’t have anything else to add,’ he said before Brown yelled cut.

Turning to the offensive tackle, Pureval asked, ‘How was it?’ To which, Brown responded: ‘Yeah, I think it’s better than last time.’

Pureval shared a video on Twitter of the Crunch reading a city proclamation before the AFC Championship game, calling Arrowhead Stadium ‘Burrowhead Stadium’ and referring to Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow as ‘Patrick Mahomes’ father’.

He then proceeded to take a dig at Kansas City, claiming it was ‘strange’ to be named after a neighboring state.

After Kansas City was victorious, Kelsey seized the opportunity to shoot the mayor again.

‘I’ve got some wise words for that Cincinnati mayor,’ Kelsey mimicked the Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson catchphrase to CBS’ NFL anchor Jim Nantz. ‘Know your part and shut up, ya Jabroni.’

In another interview with CBS’ Tracy Wolfson, Kelsey taunted Bengals fans, including the mayor of Cincinnati, after grabbing the mic from Mahomes. In it, he shouted: ‘Burrowhead my a**. That’s Mahomes’ house.’

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas also called Pureval’s trolls ‘weak as hell’.

‘Yes. They deserve it,’ tweeted Cincy’s 70th Mayor Aftab Pureval. ‘Congrats to KC on a well fought win and good luck in Arizona. Proud of our fans and @Bengals for that energy all year. who dey!’

The trolling also didn’t sit well with Mahomes’ wife, Brittany, and Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, who, like Kelsey, fired back at the Cincinnati mayor.

Two days before Sunday’s game result, Lucas tweeted, ‘I hear the mayor of Cincinnati tried to bring a weak smoke like hell.

‘No need to respond. KC got class. Cincinnati has Jerry Springer and no rings. See him on Sunday.’
